Funny cause it's true....

I haven't read any more of this blog, but when I saw part of it quoted in the Toronto Star I had to check it out. The way this guy explains old playground equipment cracks me up. Especially since it perfectly describes the park at my old elementary school (minus that twirly thing).

Is this what the Keenoshayo park still looks like anyone?? What about that park at another school with the old huge tires? Or how about that park behind the tennis courts in the same field as Keenoshayo...the one with the giant turning kite on a pole that had 2 swings attached. Where did they find that thing?

I can kind of see how the old parks used to be a little more exciting than what we have today. As a parent, I prefer the imitation sand, and safer structures. But who didn't like the wooden rickety bridge, or picking sand out of your hair after recess?

Oh., that is too funny.I remember the rickity bridges and was always so afraid when my kids went running over it when they were little. I think it is good for Paige to have her alone time in her bed. Even tho she doesn't sleep she is still resting! Love Gramma Val

OMG Keenoshayo so i totally remember and loved the big kite swing!! really it was like in the middle of nowhere, not anywhere near the actual school park. The school park is totally new and "up to mordern park code" but as for the kite...i have often wondered if it was still there!! probably not, one day i should take a walk and see!! i remember swining on those swings and singing the "Zellers" theme song..."the lowest price is the law, everyday" AHAHAHA.
