I decided enough was enough. Paige wakes up at least once a night, and has for the past few months. She only wakes up for a few seconds, but requires me to go into her room and reposition her, give her soothers, and find her Abby. I have become completely accustomed to this, but I know that it would be much, much better if this was not happening.
After reading an article in Today's Parent about sleeping, I realized that she is not able to fall asleep in the middle of the night if she wakes up since she is often unable to fall asleep at night or naptime without a few visits to her room to reposition her, give her water, retrieve her chucked soothers, etc. So now, I am leaving her on her own for as long as possible. I am only going into her room 1 time for naptime, and if she doesn't sleep after that she will just not nap. For bedtime, I am leaving her in her room until I can sense that I will only need to go in 1 time....(more tired sounding, starting to get upset). In the middle of the night I am letting her cry/shout for a while before going in. Until this week I was going in instantly to avoid Mike waking up. But now we are all on board with this new plan in hopes of rectifying this situation!

I love to know how it goes! maybe we could arrange to meet up at a park for some outside play time. Let me know?
You have a great idea there! I had problems like that with Tyson. He started to rely on me to comfort him and/or just find the darn soother. Its hard to wait them out and you don"t want her to get completely worked up (then no one gets any sleep) but more times than not she'll find her own soother and Abbey and fall back to sleep....love Gramma Val
GOOD GIRL. That sounds like a fine idea. Little ones get into habits that are hard to break, as you know, and this is most likely another habit. Once she breaks this one, you will all sleep better, I'm sure. Just like taking the last bottle away. Another thought is that perhaps she wakens in the night when she has to pee.....and since she is used to you going in and respositioning her etc.....she should fall back to sleep quite quickly when you don't show up. Good luck Love Gramama
Super idea Carol Ann. Paige just needs to learn to settle herself. Good Luck!!
So how is the 'Sleep Training' going?????
