Its getting cold...
Even though we haven't turned the heat on yet it's getting cold. The house was 65 degrees yesterday. That's 17. Henry is warm and toasty when we go back and forth to the school in his new suit, and he has had great sleeps in his new 2.5 tog sleep sack.
New table
The Turcsanyi's have outgrown our kitchen table. Mike and I bought the other table about 8 years ago when we first moved into our new house. I think it was our first purchase. It was a large table, but only sat 4 people pretty much.
Here's the new one. With the toasty warm fire.
The table could easily sit 8. Tomorrow we meet with a design consultant about some new things for the living room. It's all coming together.

Hunting Season
Mike went away for a few days hunting. Luckily that involves Scout, so it wasn't as much work for me.
Preschool Update
Preschool is going awesome! Now.
Preschool started off on a high note and then something happened. Someone told her not to run or told her one of the reasonable rules around there and then she thought the teachers were mean. We had 2 terrible weeks. For 4 of the preschool days she was in tears saying she didn't want to go. I actually had tears one day dropping her off as she legitimately looked so sad. The preschool director actually followed up in the middle of the class via phone and said she was doing well, so there weren't any major issues. It was just really hard to get her there. Mike had a good idea to send her with a small Wall-E toy in her backpack in a special secret place. That seemed to help her. Plus I got him to drop her off a couple of times, which also seemed to help. The teacher worked really hard to spend lots of time with her and slowly she got back on her feet. I think there were a few kids that were REALLY upset the first week and Rose may have been ignored a bit. Since the whole dramatic 2 weeks she has made a really good friend named Claire. The teachers say the 2 of them are inseparable. It is so sweet. Now she is perfectly happy to go to preschool, but if I mention her staying for lunch she doesn't want to. It is an option and I think maybe she should go for at least 1 full day a week in the spring. Kindergarten will be full time, so it would be good to introduce her to that. Plus, her friend Claire will be doing a full day as well.
My writing has been less than stellar lately...less time, and more rushed posts!

Henry 5 months
At 5 months...
- Better sleeps, sometimes sleeping through the night!
- Teething seems to be ramping up again! Lots of drool and chewing!
- Way fewer naps during the day. Sometimes only 2 small ones. One day I suppose they'll merge into 1 larger nap in the middle of the day. We definitely don't produce mega sleepers in this family.
- Tons of talking and noises.
- Starting to sit on his own for small stretches.
- Wearing 6 month clothing now, and the occasional 3-6 month things that fit.
- Enjoys being in the stroller for small walks and sometimes drifts off to sleep if it's not even moving!
- Able to sit in the high chair while we eat dinner, playing happily with toys...unless he's tired, then needs to be held.
- Pretty easy and pleasant baby now! Grew out of the gassy, burpy, spit uppy phase.

Florida prep step Number 1...passports!
Rose's needed renewing as it had a 3 year expiration date. She was the same age as Henry when she got her first one. I have obviously asked for it back as it is super cute.
Here's the old one here.
Pumpkin Picking
The girls didn't know it, but we decided to forgo all of the crazy expensive festivities that were Springridge Farm at this time of year, and opted to try a "new farm" to get our pumpkins at this year. They were excited to go somewhere new and didn't ask about Springridge. We went to Hutchinson farm which was primarily all pumpkins at this time of year as well as some other crops for purchase.
| We forgot the stroller so Henry bumped around in the pumpkin cart. |

Random High Chair Sleep!!
A couple of weeks ago Henry was awoken by a certain screaming sister. Not Rose for once...it was Paige screaming with a friend. At any rate I was so frustrated that he was woken up from his nap...until he fell asleep at dinner time in his high chair! Awwww....suddenly it didn't matter that he was crabby all afternoon. The high chair sleep was far too cute. He just started staring off into space and then fell asleep while we quietly ate.
Dance
Silly times before the first dance class of the year. So far Paige is having a great time seeing her friends from her old school in her jazz class, and seems to really like learning tricks in her acro class. Rose is loving ballet. I have tried to watch her in her class but there are so many parents crowding around the tiny window that I haven't been able to get a good look.
I take only the girls and leave Henry home to have a nap under Mike's watch--so far Henry hasn't had great sleeps, but hopefully he will and give Mike a nice break too. I love taking the girls to dance class. They each take a turn with the iPad while the other is in her class, I talk to other moms, and I get to spend time with just the girls. Not to mention I grab a coffee on the way and it feels like a nice relaxing morning. Paige's acro class is on Tuesday nights. Rose and Henry stay home with Mike and he gets them ready for bed. I've watched Paige a lot at this class and the girls are all really hyper. I don't know how the teacher can handle it. Paige likes that she gets a snack on the way home after this class.
Swimming
The last swim in the pool for the season. After this we had to shut it down. Our hydro bill was astronomical, and environmentally speaking it was a huge waste to heat the pool through the cold nights.
After the swimming was all done and we had gotten out of the pool I threw Scouts ball into the yard for her, and as she tried to run past me she fell in the pool and Mike had to help her out. There really isn't anywhere for a dog to climb out.
Took this next photo on an extremely hot day a couple of weeks before we shut down the pool. When we got home from school we were sweating buckets. As soon as we got home I said "Girls go get your bathing suits". I literally jumped right into the deep end along with the girls. No need to conserve hair or mascara.
