Day 3. Another day at sea...thank goodness!!

I should start with the after midnight part of Henry being sick.  He had a restless night after the incident, but luckily did not throw up again.  He slept in until 10:30, and I think the girls caught up on a bit of sleep too.  I wanted to keep Henry in the room as long as possible to rest so I ran up to the buffet with the girls to grab some food items for everyone to share for breakfast in our room.  Henry ate a bowl of cereal which was fantastic.

After this he continued to sleep for the rest of the day.  It would actually have been good to have a stroller this day.  Mike had to carry him around sleeping when we were all out of the room.

Henry had really wanted to see the crawling baby races but he was too tired to care and just fell asleep on me and then I transferred him to mike.

Unfortunately Henry had to miss the Anna and Elsa meet and greet.  We were really excited for Henry to see them mainly, but the girls wanted to go anyway.

While we saw Anna and Elsa, Mike decided to go grab a beer while Henry continued to sleep.  :)

Cool circular bathroom in the cobblestone hallway between pubs and night clubs.

When Henry had his nap I had a nice little reading time on the balcony.  I read so much less than I ever thought I would.  Only about half a book and I was debating downloading a third book before we left.  There just wasn't a ton of time, and I found that it was late or I was too tired when we would go to bed at night.

On this day Rose was scheduled to go to the bippidi boppidi boutique! She got her hair, nails, and makeup done, and brought a dress from home, although some people buy a dress from the boutique.

She had fun, and she loved her sparkly hairstyle.  It was great that she was all set for dinner!

So Henry was pretty rough still, but we still went out for dinner because there's not much choice, but also a dinner in the room would have been sad for Rose all dressed up.  There was nothing on the menu that was good for a kid who has been really sick, but Henry asked the server for peanut butter.  They were able to make toast and peanut butter happen and he ate the whole thing.  He visibly had a bit more energy after eating something, but we still made sure to make it an early night and skip the show.  We knew we had an early morning excursion and had to be hopefully recovered by then.  And a lot of me was scared another one of us was going to get sick!! (no one did--thank goodness!!!).  I'm so happy this happened on the day that it did, when it wasn't formal night, a port day, or pirate night!

An interesting day 2!

On day 2 everyone was pleasantly impressed with the buffet breakfast.  The kids were all pumped for Mickey waffles, and excited about the juice dispenser.  As you can imagine a Disney cruise buffet breakfast is very busy, so we found it a bit hard to navigate sometimes and find a seat.  The celebrity cruise meal time was wayyyyy quieter.

After breakfast we persuaded the kids to check out the kids club, even though Paige was the only one excited to go.  I wouldn't say the club was a hit on the first time, but we wonder if the girls were trying so hard to make henry happy that they weren't having fun either.  As the cruise went on they seemed to enjoy themselves more when they went.  Even though we had to force them to go a lot.  They didn't beg us to go, as we had heard from other parents.  While the kids were at the club we checked out the adults only pool and bar, as well as signed me up with a spa pass!

A little later in the day we had tickets for the Princess gathering.  I forgot to mention that the day prior, henry had talked non stop about buying a princess doll, but the store was not open until the ship set sail.  He finally bought a Rapunzel doll on the way to dinner.  After this princess gathering though he had his heart set on a Tiana doll.

Day 2 was formal night! I know Mike thought I was crazy but I was obsessing over getting to the laundry room early in the morning to iron our stuff.  I couldn't relax until I had done the ironing! I knew that around 4:00 everyone would realize they needed to iron and it would be game over.  There is 1 iron per floor, and about 2700 people on the ship.  So, you can see where I'm coming from.  Anyway, I finally made it to the laundry room and had to wait for one person. Even then he ironed 3 pairs of pants and 3 shirts and I waited for about 30 minutes.  Anyway, so happy to get that over with!  So we got ourselves all ready to go, and made sure to make it to the lobby for formal pictures nice and early.  Next time we go on a cruise we will have to make sure to take more outdoor family photos I think.

The second dinner night was at the Animator's Palate restaurant.  Very entertaining for the kids. The theme on the first night at this restaurant is "under the sea", and Crush from Finding Nemo talks to everyone and actually has back and forth conversations.  So funny.

After dinner we went to a quick guitar comedian show.  He had performed the night before and Paige was laughing hysterically so we made sure to go see his quick show before the main show.

The show this night was "Aladdin".  Henry was getting restless and tired but I didn't think anything of it, except it was super late.

And then sometime before midnight Henry threw up all over his bed! Yep, gross but true.  And you realize in a small space like this that you have no sheets, cleaning supplies, and very few changes of clothes.  We are wondering if it was what he ate for dinner.  He didn't have a fever but was very sick for about an hour.  I had to call guest services for backup.  I expected them to come to the door with sheets, but I think because it is on a ship where everyone is stuck together for a week they need to contain the germs.  A room steward came in and totally took over the situation and even made henry's bed up just as cozy as before as if nothing had happened.  All the while the girls were sleeping away.  The man even disinfected the bathroom.  As he was leaving he said "please do not hesitate to call if this happens again".   And mike gave him a huge tip!!

Onto the ship!!!

Can't believe when we stepped onto the ship from the terminal.  We were actually on the ship!!
And when you go on the ship a bunch of staff are there to greet you and someone announces on a microphone, "Disney Fantasy welcomes the Turcsanyi Family!" and everyone claps.

As soon as we got on we went up the large staircase to explore.

We had promised ice creams on the ship, and it took a bit of persuading to eat lunch first, but we finally did, and then had the ice cream.

When the room was ready we ran to it as soon as they opened up the hall.  Everyone was really excited and the balcony was super awesome to have.

Room 10096, I picked this room as Paige is 9 and Rose is 6 and it was easy for everyone to remember!
One of the lounges.  Had pictures of the London skyline that moved as if it were a window.  We never got to go to this lounge as it opened late and we always went to dinner and the show every night with the kids.

During the mandatory safety drill Henry fell asleep as he didn't nap the day before and went to bed super late the night before getting on the ship! Although we wanted to check out the Sail Away party, it didn't seem fair to make one person wait alone in the room with Henry, so we all went on the balcony to listen to the iconic Disney cruise ship horn, and watch as we pulled away from the port.

On the first night we went to the Royal Court for dinner and met our table companions, Grandparents from San Diego with their 4 year old nephew, Nathan.  Henry ended up sitting next to him every night and I could always hear them saying the most random kid things to each other.

After dinner and a great show we were pleasantly surprised to see our room transformed into a super awesome sleeping area.  All 3 kids had their own tiny beds.  Paige took the single bed which she said looked like a minecraft bed, Rose took the top bunk since she always has to sleep on the bottom at home, and Henry only cared about the chocolate on the bed!! I was especially happy to see the Navigator, which lists all of the activities available on the ship the next day-- great reading material before bed! The curtain in the middle is nice and thick and allowed us to keep our light on while the kids were rocked to sleep like babies on the other side--literally--I found the ship quite rocky this time compared to other cruises.  But really, although the room was tiny, the curtain made us feel like we weren't insect a small space, and the bathroom too was decided into 2 separate sections which let someone shower while someone else used the the toilet.  A big bonus.
