Skills Day

Almost at the end of the gymmastics year.  The held a skills day for the parents of the various pre competitive groups. Rose was really scared and extremely upset the night before.  Once we got there though and she saw all of the other girls and they went through their warm ups, she was totally fine and rocked it! I think it was a turning point in her gymnastics as she has felt really confident and proud of herself since then.

Going onto the floor for her solo routine.

Practicing with coach amanda

Here's Rose with her favourite coach Amanda.  We started with her at a different gym club when Rose was just a toddler.  When she moved to a new club we followed her over.  Hoping Rose can be in her class again one day.  Amanda asked to take this picture with her.

She earned a medal for a job well done.

Only a couple of weeks left of gymnastics until the year end Gala.  She'll get a few weeks off of training and then will be moving into the pre-competitive 4 hour group.

Fun at the park

If you look closely, you can see Henry's face.  He is super bummed out that he can't go in this vehicle.  He thought it was part of the playground.  I took him over to see it and he mistook that for being able to try it out.  TRY!!! TRY!!!

Happy to live by the lake!

FINALLY!!!!!!

2!

A few pictures of a 2 year old, and scenes from the party at Amanda and James' house.

Henry Turns 2!

What a little guy.  He was really excited to see the presents on the morning of his birthday.  He had a trial run at Auntie Amanda's the night before so he knew what it was all about.

His new train table.  It's in the basement which is a bit of a disaster,  but he doesn't mind.

I wanted to do something special on Henry's birthday, and since we had no plans I walked him to Tim Hortons where we had a birthday cake and chocolate timbit with a chocolate milk.  He was so excited about this.  Then we went to the park and played for a bit.  I loved to spend the quality time with him on his special day.

The girls didn't get enough of Montana's on Rose's birthday so they asked to go back there for Henry's party.  Plus they wanted the staff to sing to him, as Rose was too shy to allow then to sing to her the previous week.  Unfortunately there was only 1 waitress so we understood when she said she wasn't going to sing.

Still got this awesome birthday cookie dessert.

A week after his birthday I took him for his birthday pictures.  Once again so cute I can hardly stand it.

Happy birthday my littlest guy.  You are so funny, smart, and eager to be part of the team.  We love you so much.

New Backyard Fun!

We finally got the swing set we promised the kids 3 summers ago when we moved into this house!!
It's by Rainbow play systems.  Really high quality and even I can go on the swing.  Plus I can stand up in the fort part.  The girls love the whole thing, and Henry likes the sandbox, and demands to be pushed in the swing.   Not regular pushing, but one huge push, stop and then another huge push again and again.  We are trying to break him of this "need".

We got it installed just in time, because the weather turned nice the second we got it and it hasn't turned back. The day it was installed our pool was also opened, so our backyard turned into an oasis of fun, all in one day.

Rose's Birthday party!

For Rose's birthday a company called Safari Science came to do an animal show at our house.  She invited about 8 kids from school.

Rose is looking out the window super early for her friends.

Ridiculously yummy ice cream cake.

A lot of craziness with a home party! A lot of screaming and excitement at this age too! I tried to pack a lot of stuff in and realize in retrospect that we didn't need to do as much.  But idle time at a party is no good either.  Its hard to find a balance!
