Girls weekend!

In April Maura, Amanda, and I went for a night to St. Anne's spa.  We left around 8:00am, so we arrived there in time for lunch.  The entire weekend was devoted to utter relaxation...Lunch, followed by a massage, followed by tea, hot tub, Eucalyptus steam room, meditation, reading....lounging.  In other words it was busy, but in a relaxing sort of way.  It was cooler outside, so we were mainly indoors.

This is what I had for tea.  It was a sampler plate with a ton of food.

This is the room we shared.  Amanda and Maura shared the Queen and I had the twin bed.

Relaxing by the fire on day 2 before yoga.

Playing cards.

On the second day we went for breakfast in our robes, and then I went to yoga.  We had to check out at 11, but we locked our stuff up in the locker room and continued to use the facilities...again the hot tub, steam room, lunch, another spa treatment.  Amazing! We'll definitely be going back, but 1 night was not enough! And for me I always sleep bad the first night anywhere new, so I had very little sleep and was too tired the next day.  It would have been great to have an early night there and catch up before enjoying more spa fun.

New outdoor couch.

We have to get some covers for this thing as we won't want it to get soaked very often, and there are far too many cushions to put away....

Easter Fun!

Making Easter Eggs! This year we did something different and followed some instructions I found on pinterest. Shaving cream and food colouring.

Both girls claimed to have heard the Easter bunny in the night.  Rose said she heard him hopping around.  Henry thought it was great and just ate things right away when he found them.

Rose bike

Rose has been riding her bike with no training wheels for the past month! She's so quick and speedy! Her bike is so small, so everywhere we go kids and adults make comments on her abilities. She rips around like crazy.

Henry talking

Henry's talking has really progressed.  He can communicate for pretty much anything he is trying to say.  A few more super cute sentences from Henry:

"Yum a cookie a me (he uses the word "a" to fill in the blanks a lot)

"Daddy Get a cheerios a me?"

"Scoutie pood a floor" (or ground)

"Woah mommy! Yook! a train!"

"Daddy Car!!!!!" (he says this for all white cars)

"Where daddy go?"

"say hi a daddy"

"Try a mommy car?"

And then feeding Scout her food: "Scout (soak) sit! Scout Down"....Scout EAT!"

Sometimes (often) the talking is so cute that I can't even handle it.

Henry says a sentence

Yesterday Henry said a full sentence:

"More...cookie...please"

So typical that something about a cookie would be his first sentence.  He uses the word "a" as a filler usually.  "A mo' a cookie?"

Home Time. Waahhhhhh

I am writing this post more than a month later and my thought about leaving is still WAHHHHHH...

Of course the day we were leaving was sunny and beautiful out.  We decided to pack up as quick as we could to enjoy the park for a while before going to the airport.  While we were at the park Henry finally decided to go down the slide even though he wouldn't do it the entire 2 weeks we were there.

When we arrived at the airport we were informed our flight was 4 hours delayed.  Yay.  Fun times.  Luckily the airport has multiple stores of Disney and Universal studios shopping. Everyone was ok and Henry had a good nap in his stroller.  He probably wouldn't have even slept on the plane, so at least he was well rested when we finally got on.

Everyone was sad and didn't want to leave. I felt bad for Henry too as he had no clue it was colder than -30 at home. The little guy had definitely gotten used to having tons of outdoor time.  When we got back the car was ice cold and Mike warmed it up for a long time and installed all of the car seats.  By the time we were on the road everyone was exhausted and all the kids fell asleep.  They never even ate dinner, and only picked away at stuff all day, but they were so tired. The unfortunate thing was that all of the grocery stores were closed and the next day was family day so we had no food at all.  I stocked up on a bit of stuff from Shoppers and we called it a night! Poor mike had to go to bed and wake up early to fly to San Francisco the next morning.

So that's a condensed version of our trip! We want to go back again soon.  We're home sick and winter is not letting up over here...

More fun!

A few more days of fun! On a particularly cold day we did some shopping the outlet mall, and then had some outdoor time at the park in the afternoon.

Wearing all the warm clothes.  Double jackets.

Making a wish and releasing a latern.

Game rental from the main activity centre.

Mermaid tails!! Paige got the hang of it really quickly, and it appeared to be a good workout.  Rose had to wear her puddle jumpers as she's not a strong enough swimmer yet.  The girls got so many comments on the tails while they were swimming.  In the photo below it is actually really cold outside! The pool is super warm, but it was definitely a day where i was begging them to go in the hot tub!

On our last night we went to get hot chocolate, as it mentioned in the activities calendar that they were selling hot chocolate at night.  When we got there we realized there was also popcorn and an outdoor movie! It was Valentine's day so Lady and The Tramp was playing.  There were a few families there, but most were wimps about the colder weather.

Relaxing times

Relaxing around the pirate pool.  It was really cold leaving the room, but once we warmed up at the park with a coffee and the kids running around, everyone was ready to swim.

Rose dipped her foot in warm cheese from the pretzel that we shared.

Matt and his family were coincidentally vacationing in Orlando the same time as us, so Mike and Matt went out one night for a drink, and then we met up with him and his family at our hotel for dinner the next night.

A strange way to watch a show

I have never seen anyone seriously relaxing in one of the many hammocks around the resort.  Only kids and people joking around.
