Today the plan was to push Paige in the stroller to the ravine so she could walk along and play with the leaves. She wouldn't get in her stroller, so I pushed her stroller as she walked beside me all the way to the park. It probably took about half an hour, which is the furthest she has ever walked. She played on the park for a bit, and as we started to go into the path by the ravine she was turning around to go home and sat down. Clearly she was tired, but still didn't want to go in the stroller. I had to force her to sit in it and strap her in really quickly in order to get home. The whole experience really tired her out though, and she fell asleep as soon as we got home.

Poo and lies....
Paige has continued to tell me when she has a poo diaper. Sometimes she even tells me when she has to go. She'll say "poo" and there is nothing, but then 5 minutes later, there it is! I'm thinking this is a good thing for toilet training. However, sometimes she likes to lie. I say, "Do you have poo?", and she says "no?". I ask her again and she says "no?", when I know that she clearly does have poo. She just wants to get out of having her diaper changed which she can't stand.

More new words...
Poo
Tyson
Moose
Bib
Again--this is a good one....makes me read stories to her 8 times now. Or, do weird things repeatedly, like cover her up completely with a blanket while she is standing, so she can walk around like a tiny little ghost without knowing where she is going.
So many more new words that I have never posted. Let's just say there are a lot of words.
Something good with the new diapers. She tells me when she wants her diaper changed. Obviously there are times when she does NOT want her diaper changed at all costs and screams and kicks, but I like that she has learned that she can tell me when she does want it changed. I'm thinking these things will contribute to earlier potty training. Something NOt good with the new diapers: night time diapers. 1 word...disgusting. Going to use disposables for that.

G diapers
Paige shows off her new diaper:

Ever since we got a composting system in Burlington I have watched with horror as our garbage goes out every 2 weeks filled only with diapers. And we're talking 3 full garbage bags mainly of diapers. Of course there are also little scraps of plastic, toothpaste containers, and that sort of thing, but that is basically a non-issue compared to these diapers. I had read about G diapers, and was really interested to try them. They consist of a cotton outer part and then an inner flushable/biodegradable lining. The best part of both worlds between the disposable and the cotton varieties. I wasn't prepared to take on cloth diaper washing at home or getting a service, so I think this is a start. They are a little more $$$, but we'll try to save in other areas. We'll keep some disposables around for outings, but I'm hoping these work well. it's a bit more work, but I really feel I'm in no position to complain about something that will really take 5 minutes more out of my not-so-busy day. And also, who am I to complain when, as they so aptly put it on the g-diaper website:
"It takes up to 500 years for a disposable to biodegrade in a landfill. Just in time for your great, great, great, great, grandchild's birth. Not a very nice baby gift. "
I had to buy a starter kit which came with 2 pairs of "little g" pants in orange and cream. It also came with a "swish stick" to use to break it down in the toilet. I'll report back about how these little guys are working.
update!: We had a poo in the g-diaper and I went through the steps. Wow, that's a lot of stuff to flush, but after i swished it around with the stick it was totally fine! The plastic liner (i forgot to mention there is a snap in liner that you put the biodegradable other liner in) inside gets poo on it, but you just rinse it off and air dry it while you use your other "little g-pant". So, all in all, not bad, but I can imagine mike might think that washing the poo off the liner is a bit gross. The pee diapers will be no problem. You wouldn't want a poo in the mall or something though...

Tyson's visit...
It was great to have Tyson come by to visit for a few days even though I was sooooooo sick! Bascially the day after Tyson got here I started to feel all achy, and then had a non-stop fever for 4 days. On the plus side, Tyson was able to help out with taking care of Paige a lot as I lay in bed sleeping.

We managed to make it out for the family Thanksgiving dinner. I have made a slideshow of the images (even though this slideshow thing is ridiculously slow)
Ok seriously--no matter what I did I could not put my slideshow up on my blog. When I did, it was OTHER PEOPLES PHOTOS!! hahaha.
Anyway--here is a link to the website with the photos on it for now....

We even managed to make it out to Uncle Chris's Art show

Blog words....

I analyzed the last 2 months of my blog at www.wordle.net to see what are the words used most often. The biggest words are used the most. Some of the smaller words may be used only once or twice. I love how you can tell it's fall with "pumpkin", "patch", "mazes", "bales", "straw", etc. I also love how it takes words out of context so that they look totally random and weird. Since you can remove words from the final product I took out the words "funeral" and "disease" but forgot to take out "bladder". These were all refering to the fish that died of swim bladder disease.

Paige recently...
I haven't posted recently because I'm trying to finish my blog book so I can actually order it.
The weather has drastically changed for the worse (or better, depending how you look at it). It is especially cold today with a high of 12 or something like that. This prompted me to go buy Paige a snowsuit this morning. I was really looking more so for a hat and mitts, but I found a great deal on a snowsuit from sears that came with a hat, gloves, and scarf as well, so we jumped on that deal! It makes me excited for when it actually snows and Paige can play in it for the first time! I'm excited as well since I quite like my snow suit and have only used it a couple times for skiing.
Since it is colder, it is nice that we have a couple of indoor activities that have started. We're enrolled in Water Explorers on Wednesday afternoons, and a new program called "Our Special Time" on Thursday mornings. Water Explorers is interesting as I notice a huge difference in Paige since the last time we were in swimming "lessons". She is excited to jump in the water now, and she constantly asks for the slide. Water Explorers is basically exactly the same as both Water Babies, and Water Toddlers, except there are just older kids in it (especially since we are combined with another class that goes up to age 3). OST is a class that is partially an open play class with smaller toys and crafts as well as time in a gymnasium with larger cars, houses and slides. There is also circle time and story time (both of which Paige has a hard time sitting through). I like the fact that she gets to interact with other kids, as well as get a chance to play with these huge toys that I am promising myself I'll never buy.
Paige is obsessed with brushes lately. While she likes using her own brush to brush her hair, she would rather use her plastic garden tools. It doesn't help that we have called them brushes, so now that is what she thinks they are. Today at lunch she was brushing her hair with her dirty fork. Lovely!
Her words have become more high-pitched lately. Anything ending in an E sound is especially bad. Abb-EEEEE (Abby), Dad-EEEEE (Daddy), are repeated loudly and often in a shrill little voice.
Oh--Paige has her own bank account now. She had some cheques for her RESP, so we opened her an account since there are no fees until she is much older.
